Al-Diqan recalls Al-Qutami and Al-Juwail for their roles in the "Television Troupe"

The Kuwait Television Folk Arts Troupe was more than just a group performing various forms of heritage on stage; it was a home that preserved Kuwait’s artistic and popular memory within its walls, with its members passing down the arts of fathers and grandfathers from one generation to the next. At the troupe’s final training session, held a few days ago and shared via the group’s Instagram account, composer and general supervisor Ghannam Al-Diqan paused to mention names that left a lasting impact on this journey, recalling the late Ahmed Al-Qutami and Badr Al-Juhayyan, and the effort and dedication they contributed to training troupe members, introducing them to folk arts, and explaining their details and origins. This ensured that knowledge of heritage became part of the spirit of performance, rather than merely memorized movements or performed melodies. Al-Diqan’s words were more than a passing remembrance; they were a tribute of gratitude. Those who served folk art do not fade away simply because they are gone, for what they planted remains present in every rhythm, every step, and every voice that sings a folk art piece that reached us thanks to the efforts of men who believed that heritage is a trust and that preserving it is an endless responsibility.
