Support for Gulf Maritime Security

The commanders of the naval forces of the armed forces of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states discussed continuing the development of operational aspects within the maritime system related to maritime security and ensuring navigational safety in the waters of the Arabian Gulf, through coordinating roles, unifying operational and defensive concepts, and achieving cooperation and integration in the execution of joint operations. This came during the 24th meeting of the commanders, hosted by the Bahrain Defense Force, represented by the Royal Bahraini Navy, with the attendance of the Assistant Secretary-General for Military Affairs at the General Secretariat of the GCC states, Major General Salman Al-Fadlallah, and the Commander of the Unified Military Command of the GCC states, Major General Abdulaziz Al-Balawi. This initiative aims to strengthen the role of maritime security in the GCC states in confronting various challenges and ensuring freedom of navigation and the safety of maritime routes in the region.
