Food Authority: Issued 10 violation reports at Al-Aradiyah Craft Market and closed a restaurant in Binid Al-Qar

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition announced that its joint inspection rounds resulted in the closure of a restaurant in the Binid Qar area and the issuance of 10 violation reports in the Al-Aridya Craft Area. Five of these reports were issued for food handlers working without health certificates, and five were issued against business owners for employing workers without health certificates.

In a statement, the Authority said that, represented by the inspection department of the Al-Farwaniya Governorate and in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Interior, and the Public Authority for Manpower, it conducted a joint inspection of shisha cafes in the Al-Aridya Craft Area to verify compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.

The Authority also announced the detection of several serious health violations at a restaurant in the Binid Qar area. It stated that, represented by the inspection department of the Capital Governorate and in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, it detected these violations, took legal action, and closed the establishment.

Among the most prominent violations were the handling of food unfit for human consumption and contaminated with Salmonella bacteria, as well as the handling of food under unhygienic conditions and the lack of technical and health requirements, which exposed the food to contamination.

The Authority added that other violations included non-compliance with hygiene rules and standards, with dirt and live insects found inside the establishment, operating the facility after its health license had expired, and workers not obtaining health certificates.

The Authority emphasized that its inspection rounds are part of ongoing joint supervisory efforts to ensure compliance with health requirements and to take legal action against violators, thereby contributing to the protection of consumers’ health and safety and strengthening the regulatory framework for food establishments.
