Ministry of Tourism: Legal action against those who allowed a foreigner to photograph in ancient cemeteries in Luxor

Cairo – Hanaa El-Sayed: The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced that legal measures have been taken against officials who allowed a foreign content creator to film in archaeological tombs in Luxor without a ticket.

In a statement, the ministry said, “In line with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ commitment to preserving archaeological sites, enforcing the rules and regulations governing their operation, and ensuring the highest level of service for visitors, the ministry examined and reviewed the facts presented in videos filmed and broadcast by a foreign content creator on his social media pages.”

It added, “The examination identified administrative security personnel at the archaeological sites who permitted the content creator to visit certain tombs in Luxor without purchasing an entry ticket, as well as allowing him access to areas closed to the public, constituting a violation of the established regulations. Legal procedures have been initiated against those responsible for the incident in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations.”
