Kuwait condemns the aggressive drone attack on the Kurdistan Region of Iraq
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s condemnation of the aggressive drone attack on the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, which targeted the office of the Region’s Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani, and the residence of the head of the Region’s Security and Intelligence Agency. The Ministry affirmed, in a statement, Kuwait’s rejection of any actions that would undermine the sovereignty, security, and stability of the sisterly Republic of Iraq, and stressed the necessity of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states in accordance with the principles of international law.
In the same context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s condemnation and denunciation of Israeli occupation airstrikes that targeted the Abu al-Dhaher military airport in the Idlib Governorate of the sisterly Arab Republic of Syria, in violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and as an escalation that threatens to undermine regional security and stability.
The Ministry called on the international community and the Security Council to fulfill their responsibilities in halting the repeated Israeli occupation attacks on Syrian territory, and to ensure respect for the rules of international law and the United Nations Charter. The Ministry reaffirmed Kuwait’s firm position supporting the sovereignty, territorial integrity, security, and stability of the sisterly Arab Republic of Syria.
