The Gulf Cooperation Council strongly condemns Israeli occupation airstrikes on Abu al-Dhur military airport: an unacceptable violation of Syrian sovereignty and sanctity of its territory

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Budaiwi, expressed his strongest condemnation and rejection of the airstrikes carried out by Israeli occupation forces, which targeted Abu al-Duhur military airbase in the Idlib province of Syria.
In a statement on Tuesday, Al-Budaiwi said that the Israeli occupation’s brazen targeting of Syrian territory constitutes an unacceptable violation of Syria’s sovereignty and the inviolability of its land, and runs counter to international rules and norms that prohibit interference in the sovereignty of states.
He emphasized that the continuation of such practices would exacerbate tensions and escalation, undermining regional and international efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the region.
He called on the international community to assume its responsibilities, adopt a firm stance against these violations, and work to halt Israeli occupation attacks on Syrian territory, thereby safeguarding its security and stability.
Al-Budaiwi reaffirmed the Gulf Cooperation Council states’ solidarity with the Syrian Arab Republic, its sovereignty, and the integrity of its territory.
