In Video: Al-Talhi to Al-Anba: 14,000 applicants for Applied Science College and Institutes, admission results to be announced on the 25th or 26th of this month

Ghadir Al-Talhi, Assistant Deputy Director for Admissions and Registration at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), announced the conclusion of the application period for the 2026-2027 academic year admission plan. She noted that the total number of applicants reached approximately 14,000 students through the Authority’s electronic portal, confirming that the results of admitted students will be announced on August 25 or 26.

In a statement to "Al-Anbaa" on the final day of registration yesterday, Al-Talhi said the application process was successfully closed electronically. However, national staff and work teams remained present in the admissions hall to address any technical obstacles or inquiries, as well as to receive documents for exceptional cases and non-Kuwaiti students, whose papers must be submitted manually.

She pointed out that the system, which is automatically linked with all educational institutions—including Kuwait University, domestic and external scholarships, and Abdullah Al-Salem University—automatically prevents double admission. She clarified that students registered or admitted to these institutions must submit an official withdrawal certificate to lift the technical block and complete the submission of their documents and registration at the Authority.

Regarding the comprehensive policy for offering academic programs, Al-Talhi revealed the inclusion of new programs designed to meet labor market requirements, in direct coordination with ministries and government entities. A notable addition is the "Finance and Real Estate Valuation" specialization at the College of Business Studies, which represents a qualitative addition to the financial and real estate sectors. Additionally, two-year training courses for the position of "Municipal Services and Sanitation Inspector" were launched, leading to direct employment upon graduation within the municipality. She explained that admission to certain specialties, such as some educational programs affiliated with the Ministry of Education, has been temporarily suspended due to an oversupply of personnel and labor market saturation, with plans to reopen admissions in the future upon receipt of new requirements from relevant authorities.

Regarding services for students with disabilities, Al-Talhi confirmed a direct electronic link between PAAET and the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities. This ensures exceptional accommodations, including the addition of five full percentage points to the admission score, as well as direct priority in selecting courses within colleges and institutes.

She noted that the Authority intensified its counseling and awareness efforts before and during the application period through active participation in educational exhibitions at key locations, most notably the Expo Center in Mishref, and the 360 Mall and Avenues Mall. These efforts aimed to guide students, inform them of minimum scores and procedures, and remove all obstacles in their path.

Al-Talhi concluded by expressing sincere gratitude and appreciation to PAAET Director General Dr. Hassan Al-Fajam and all staff working in the admissions and registration sector. She expressed her hope that all new students would achieve their first preferences, emphasizing that opportunities remain for those who were not initially successful through mechanisms for changing majors and internal transfers in the upcoming academic semesters.
