Ministry of Education Launches Phase 3 of Teacher and Counselor Training Program in Preparation for the Baccalaureate
Cairo – Ahmed Sabri: The Ministry of Education and Technical Education has launched the third phase of the comprehensive training program for teachers and subject coordinators across the country, as part of the ministry’s preparations to implement the Egyptian Baccalaureate system and the updated curricula, and to enhance the readiness of educational cadres to handle the new system and curricula.
The third phase of the training program includes intensive specialized training on the academic content of the curricula for each subject, contributing to strengthening teachers’ and coordinators’ capacities to deeply understand the academic content, and to familiarize themselves with teaching methods and implementation mechanisms within classrooms.
The training sessions began in the subjects of English and French, with the ministry set to continue implementing training for the remaining subjects in the coming days.
The training program is part of a comprehensive plan consisting of five connected phases, implemented over more than two months. It aims to gradually and comprehensively train and qualify teachers and coordinators, starting from introducing the philosophy of the Egyptian Baccalaureate system and the updated curricula, up to specialized training and comprehensive review before the start of the academic year.
The first phase began with a comprehensive presentation of the Egyptian Baccalaureate system, introducing major global trends in secondary education systems, alongside familiarizing participants with the general content of school textbooks, and providing training through a model lesson demonstrating mechanisms for dealing with the updated curricula.
In the second phase, coordinators and teachers disseminated and shared the knowledge they acquired during the first phase with their fellow teachers across the country, under the supervision of the Central Administration for General Education. This phase relied on a training system based on knowledge and experience sharing, with continuous monitoring to ensure that training content reached teachers in the field.
The third phase focuses on intensive specialized training on the academic content of each subject, ensuring that teachers and coordinators acquire in-depth knowledge of the updated curricula and the ability to teach them in accordance with the philosophy of the Egyptian Baccalaureate system.
The fourth phase involves teachers and coordinators disseminating the knowledge they have acquired, and conducting intensive training for their colleagues in the field on the academic content, thereby ensuring the expansion of the program’s reach and the delivery of knowledge and expertise to all targeted teachers across the country.
The fifth and final phase involves conducting training sessions using video conferencing technology, as part of the comprehensive review and final qualification of teachers and coordinators, ensuring their full readiness to implement the updated curricula and the Egyptian Baccalaureate system with the start of the academic year.
