The Ministry of the Interior has warned about new methods used to smuggle and distribute narcotics, emphasizing that drugs are no longer limited to their traditional forms but may be concealed within ordinary-looking items that do not arouse suspicion. In an awareness-raising video, the ministry explained that the drug “A4” has recently emerged as part of these novel drug distribution tactics, involving the use of ordinary paper impregnated with narcotics and psychoactive substances in an attempt to hide and transport them away from the view of security forces. The ministry confirmed that the General Directorate of Narcotics Control continues its proactive efforts to detect such crimes and uncover new smuggling methods, noting that these efforts have led to the arrest of suspects and the seizure of cases involving paper impregnated with the drug ketamine, as well as the thwarting of attempts to smuggle shipments of narcotics.
