Upgrading the submerged pump power grid in northern Kuwait

Mideast reported that Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) issued a tender for the implementation of the third phase of the project to develop the electrical distribution network dedicated to powering submersible electric pumps in the northern Kuwait region, a move aimed at supporting the infrastructure for production operations in oil fields.

According to Mideast, Kuwait Oil Company issued the tender on August 2, 2026, and set September 1 of the coming year as the date for a meeting to discuss the project, while establishing October 27, 2026, as the final deadline for submitting bids.

Mideast quoted Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), describing the current crisis as the largest oil crisis Kuwait has faced since the Iraqi invasion in 1990, amid the repercussions imposed by the war on oil export operations.

Despite the decline in Kuwaiti crude oil exports due to regional developments, oil companies continue to launch several projects, including the third phase of the project to develop the electrical distribution network for submersible electric pumps in northern Kuwait, reflecting the continued implementation of certain oil projects under current operational conditions.
