5 Entities Contribute $5 Million to the "Emergency Response Fund"

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced new financial contributions to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, totaling US$5 million, provided by Al-Makhazen Al-Bayda Group, Kuwait Industrial Bank, Abiat Megastore Company, Al-Rashed Holding Group, and Abdulrahman Mohammed Al-Bahar & Partners and Sons Company, with each entity contributing US$1 million. This comes as part of the continued engagement of national institutions with the strategic initiatives of the State of Kuwait.

In a press statement, the Kuwait Fund noted that the joining of these five entities to the list of supporters of the fund reflects the broadening scope of national partnership and the diversity of sectors contributing to its objectives, thereby helping to strengthen its financial resources and direct them toward priority interventions and projects.

The contributing entities reflect diversity across economic sectors. In the trade and distribution sector, Al-Makhazen Al-Bayda Group has a history spanning more than six decades. Founded by the late Yaqoub Yousef Al-Hamad in 1965, it began its activities in importing and distributing food products and consumer goods. Over the past decades, the group has continued to grow and expand, becoming today one of the leading companies in this sector, representing more than 50 prestigious global brands.

In the industrial sector, Kuwait Industrial Bank, established in 1973, is a financial institution specialized in supporting and financing the industrial sector in Kuwait. Over the decades, it has contributed to financing industrial projects and enhancing economic development, in addition to providing specialized financing solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as agricultural and livestock activities, thereby boosting economic development.

The contributing entities also include Al-Rashed Holding Group, established in 2000 and owned by the Al-Rashed family. It comprises companies operating in contracting, oil services, technology services, and various industries, reflecting the diversity of its activities and its presence in the Kuwaiti private sector.

Among the Kuwaiti companies that have stood out in this context is Abdulrahman Mohammed Al-Bahar & Partners and Sons Company, established in 1972. Its activities have expanded to include real estate, general trade, contracting, shipping, liner agency services, and logistics, alongside various commercial and construction activities.

It is worth noting that the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund was launched on July 5, 2026, on the initiative of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and with the approval of the Council of Ministers, with the aim of enhancing institutional resilience and improving the efficiency of national responses to emergency challenges.
