Al-Kuwaitiya Enhances Staff Skills to Serve People with Special Needs

Kuwait Airways, in collaboration with Shahed Shahab for the Management of Specialized Medical Centers, organized a number of specialized training courses and programs for its employees, pursuant to a memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties. The initiative aims to enhance the skills and capabilities of staff in dealing with persons with disabilities, particularly air cabin crews and airport personnel.

The training programs covered several specialized topics on communication and interaction techniques with various categories of persons with disabilities, including those with hearing, visual, and mobility impairments. They also introduced best practices and methods that contribute to providing support and assistance throughout different stages of travel, thereby enhancing the ease and comfort of their experience.

In this context, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Airways, Captain Abdulwahab Al-Shatti, stated: “Organizing these training courses stems from Kuwait Airways’ belief in the importance of investing in human capital and developing its employees’ skills, as they are the cornerstone for delivering distinguished services that meet the needs of all passengers and keep pace with their expectations.”

Al-Shatti added that these courses are part of Kuwait Airways’ commitment to continuously develop its employees’ capabilities and raise their readiness to address the diverse needs of passengers, in line with the company’s strategy to elevate service standards, promote the concept of inclusivity, and provide an exceptional travel experience for all customers without exception.

For her part, Ghazlan Al-Tashah, Acting Director of the Training Center at Kuwait Airways, said that the training programs represent an important step in enhancing employees’ skills in interacting with persons with disabilities. She noted that qualifying staff and equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills contributes to providing a smoother and more comfortable travel experience, and strengthens their ability to offer appropriate support to passengers throughout all stages of their journey.
