Communications Authority warns iPhone users: Phishing charging messages target your data

The Public Authority for Communications and Information Technology (PACI) has warned iPhone users about fraudulent messages circulating via the iMessage service, which impersonate courier and delivery companies in an attempt to obtain users’ personal or financial data.
In a security alert, the authority stated that the fraudulent messages ask users to update shipment details or delivery addresses, or to pay fees through attached and suspicious links, warning against clicking on any such links or responding to requests sent through them.
The authority emphasized the importance of verifying shipment status exclusively through the company’s official website or app, and advised against sharing any personal or financial information via unverified messages or links.
It urged iPhone users who receive such messages to delete and report them as spam, stressing the need to remain vigilant against cyber fraud attempts that exploit the names of courier and delivery companies to lure users and harvest their data.
