Saint-Germain strengthens its squad with Belgian player Godts

Paris Saint-Germain have strengthened their squad by signing Belgian winger Myka Gotens from Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam on a contract that runs until 2031. The Parisian club, champions of Europe in the past two seasons, announced: “Paris Saint-Germain is pleased to announce the signing of Myka Gotens,” adding that the new arrival “will wear the number 22 shirt.” Jordi Cruyff, son of the late Johan Cruyff and sporting director at Ajax Amsterdam, who also revealed the deal’s value of 55 million euros including bonuses, said: “Myka is an excellent player with distinctive qualities, and we will miss him greatly.” The 21-year-old Belgian has played for Ajax since 2023 and delivered an exceptional season last year, scoring 17 goals and providing 12 assists in the Dutch Eredivisie, earning the award for best young player. In a statement, PSG quoted Gotens as saying, “I am extremely proud to join one of the best clubs in the world.” He added, “I can’t wait to wear these colors and experience the atmosphere of the Parc des Princes and its fans.” Gotens, an admirer of Brazilian star Neymar, is known for his dribbling skills and ability to beat defenders, as demonstrated by his goal against PSV Eindhoven in April.
