Ministry of Education Concludes Summer School Clubs' 7-a-Side Football Tournament with Participation of 10 Boys' Clubs

The Ministry of Education concluded the seven-a-side football tournament organized by the evening school summer clubs for boys, with the participation of 10 summer clubs, under the supervision of the General Administration of Supporting Educational Services, and in cooperation with the Kuwait School Sports Federation. The event was part of the summer clubs’ programs aimed at productively utilizing students’ time during the summer vacation, developing their athletic and physical capabilities, enhancing competitive spirit, and discovering and refining sporting talents.

Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and President of the Kuwait School Sports and Higher Education Federation, Eng. Hamad Al-Hamad, emphasized that the tournament aligns with the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening school sports and expanding student participation in athletic activities, given their role in developing students’ abilities and skills, and instilling values of cooperation, respect, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Al-Hamad clarified that the tournament transcends the concept of sports competition and achieving rankings, serving instead as an opportunity to identify student talents, highlight their abilities, and work on refining and nurturing them, thereby preparing outstanding students to transition to sports clubs and represent national teams in the future. He commended the enthusiasm and positive competition displayed during the matches, as well as the efforts of the referees, who are teachers from the Ministry of Education and the staff overseeing the tournament’s organization.

He noted that school summer clubs represent a comprehensive educational environment that enables students to invest their time during the summer vacation in purposeful and diverse programs and activities that combine skill development, learning, and enjoyment. He pointed out that the Ministry is simultaneously committed to establishing educational cultural clubs to enhance students’ foundational skills and academic achievement, preparing them to return to the upcoming academic year with renewed energy and enthusiasm.

For her part, Dr. Hessa Jasem Arab, Director of the Physical Education Technical Guidance Administration and Acting Secretary-General of the Kuwait School Sports Federation, stated that the tournament represents the second edition of the seven-a-side football competitions designated for male students in the middle and secondary stages. She explained that this year’s edition saw the participation of 10 school summer clubs, with competitions showcasing promising athletic abilities and skills among the participating students.
