Interior Ministry: Foiled attempt to smuggle 2 kg of Shabu hidden in books shipped via cargo

The Ministry of Interior announced the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle approximately 2 kilograms of Shabu drugs and the arrest of an Asian national who was found to be involved in bringing the shipment from an Asian country with the intent to traffic it within Kuwait. In a statement, the Ministry said the shipment arrived via courier services. Following investigations, it was established that the narcotics were smuggled and cleverly concealed inside several books. The shipment was tracked, and upon its arrival in the country, the drugs and the suspect were seized when he came to collect them. The Ministry confirmed that legal procedures have been initiated against the suspect, and both the suspect and the seized drugs have been referred to the competent authorities. It further emphasized that the Ministry remains committed to combating drug smuggling, monitoring various new methods and techniques used in trafficking, and dealing firmly with anyone attempting to introduce these narcotic poisons into the country or traffic them, thereby contributing to the protection of societal security and the safety of its members.
