"Protect Your Data": Urgent Warning from the Communications Regulatory Authority Regarding Fraudulent Calls

Cairo – Ahmed Sabri The National Telecom Regulatory Authority has warned against phone calls made by individuals impersonating customer service representatives in an attempt to obtain customers’ personal data and use it to breach e-wallets or carry out other fraudulent activities. In an infographic published yesterday, the Authority clarified that data updates are never conducted over the phone, but only through the branches of telecommunications companies. It also noted that incoming calls from telecommunications companies or the National Telecom Regulatory Authority are displayed to customers with the name of the company or the Authority, to confirm that they are official calls.
