Former Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora condemned the Israeli escalation and what he described as a “new criminal aggression” targeting safe Lebanese families, specifically citing the brutal massacre that claimed an entire family in the town of Ansar and another attack in Deir al-Zahrani. In a statement, Siniora said, “Israel continues to trample on all relevant international agreements and resolutions,” urging the international community, particularly the United States, which is sponsoring the ongoing negotiations with Lebanon, “to put an end to this ongoing Israeli lawlessness and criminality, which faces no deterrent.” Siniora added that “unless these attacks are halted, all efforts toward de-escalation and preparing for stability will be in vain, and all initiatives aimed at reaching a solution and a permanent ceasefire will be thwarted.”
