Al-Qadsiah has closed the file on its five foreign players after signing Ivorian midfielder Cedric Gbo. With this move, the club has completely overhauled its foreign contingent in preparation for the new season, which will begin with a match against Al-Fahaheel in the opening round of the Zain Premier League, scheduled to kick off on the 25th of this month.
The club had previously signed Moroccan striker Hamza Khaba, Omani winger Abdulrahman Al-Mashfari, Nigerian winger Gabriel Orok, and Moroccan striker Ayoub Al-Khadhr.
During their training camp in Turkey, Al-Qadsiah will play their fourth and final friendly match tomorrow against Bahraini side Al-Khalidiya. They have already played three matches with Algerian club WA Tlemcen, ending in a goalless 0-0 draw. Prior to that, they defeated Saudi side Al-Orobah 3-1, while their first friendly ended in a 1-1 draw with Saudi club Al-Zulfi.
Meanwhile, the senior football team at Al-Arabi Club will return to training tomorrow, Monday, at Sabah Al-Salem Stadium in Mansuriya. The team delegation returned early Friday morning from the Indian city of Kolkata, after playing the Asian Champions League 2 qualifying playoff against Indian side East Bengal, which ended in a 1-4 defeat for the Green team.
The technical and administrative staff have granted the players a rest period before they reconvene tomorrow in preparation for the new football season. The technical and administrative staff are scheduled to review the local preparation schedule, which includes friendly matches against local teams to maintain players' physical fitness and technical readiness.
