Al-Sahel Nears the Premier League

Al-Sahel is close to securing promotion to the Premier League for the new season, after defeating Al-Jazira 2-0 in the 19th round of the Zain League First Division, whose matches concluded on Friday evening. With this result, Abu Halifa’s side moved to the top of the table with 43 points, while Al-Jazira remained on 35 points in fourth place. The goals were scored by Alin de Souza and Mohammed Ghazi.

In another match, runners-up Yarmouk drew 1-1 with third-placed Salibikhaet, leaving both teams on 40 points and keeping the battle for one of the two promotion spots alive.

In two other matches unrelated to the promotion race, Khaitan and Burqan played to a goalless draw, moving Khaitan to 21 points in fifth place and Burqan to 17 points in sixth. Finally, Sporty secured their second victory of the competition, defeating Al-Shamahi 4-3. The winners moved to six points in last place, while the losers remained on 10 points in seventh place.
