According to WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp updates, the company is working on a search button that will appear directly within the chat screen, allowing users to start searching without first navigating to the contact or group information page.

The feature was spotted in a beta version of WhatsApp for iOS distributed via the TestFlight platform. The search button is expected to appear when users scroll up toward older messages and disappear when they return to the most recent messages.

This change aims to make the search function more accessible and intuitive by reducing the number of steps required to access it.

However, the feature is still under development, and WhatsApp has not yet announced an official release date for all iPhone users, meaning its design or functionality may change before the final launch.
