"Higher Education": 139,000 students registered their preferences for the second phase of university coordination

Dr. Adel Abdelghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, announced that the number of secondary school students who have registered their preferences as part of the second phase of the admission coordination for public universities and institutes for the 2026/2027 academic year has reached approximately 139,000 students so far, amid growing interest in online registration.
Abdelghaffar clarified that the registration of preferences for the second phase continues through the electronic coordination website until 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 16, which is the designated deadline for closing the registration window.
He noted that the electronic coordination website allows students to register or modify their preferences 24 hours a day throughout the phase, emphasizing the importance of carefully reviewing and ordering preferences before confirming registration.
He added that computer labs at public universities continue to receive students daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM to provide technical support and assist with the free registration and ordering of preferences.
The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research confirmed that the ministry continues its efforts to raise student awareness regarding the rules and procedures of electronic coordination, through the publication of guidance manuals, infographics, and awareness videos prepared by the General Administration of the Media Office and the official spokesperson. These resources aim to help students complete the registration process correctly.
Dr. Adel Abdelghaffar called on students and their parents to rely on the ministry’s official sources to obtain accurate and up-to-date information regarding coordination activities, and to disregard unverified information or rumors circulating on social media platforms.
The continuation of preference registration for the second phase comes within the framework of admission coordination activities for universities and institutes for the new academic year, under continuous monitoring by the Ministry of Higher Education to ensure the smooth operation of registration and to provide support to students throughout the various stages of coordination.
Students can register their preferences through the electronic coordination website affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education, with the option to utilize the computer labs at public universities during the announced hours.
