"Industrial Development" Reclaims Lands in Beni Suef for "Failure to Prove Seriousness"

The campaign to reclaim industrial lands, led by the General Authority for Industrial Development (GAID), has completed its operations in Upper Egypt. A joint committee, chaired by Eng. Hazem Awnan, successfully reclaimed and recovered several idle industrial land plots in Beni Suef Governorate, in full coordination with the executive authorities and relevant provincial agencies. This action was carried out in direct implementation of directives from Eng. Khaled Hashem, Minister of Industry, to recover areas where plot holders failed to demonstrate seriousness and commitment.
Dr. Nadeh Youssef, President of the General Authority for Industrial Development, confirmed that industrial lands were recently reclaimed in both the Al-Mataher Industrial Zone in Minya Governorate and the new Beni Suef area. Additionally, the implementation of reclamation decisions for land plots in the Bayad Al-Arab Industrial Zone and the Kom Abu Radis Industrial Zone has been completed.
She emphasized that these campaigns follow precise field monitoring that revealed plot owners’ failure to adhere to the scheduled timeline for commencing production, after all previously granted facilitations and additional deadlines had been exhausted without any construction, operational startup, or production activities. She noted that these intensive actions across all governorates primarily aim to reclaim idle industrial lands and make them available again to support genuine investment, transforming idle areas into productive entities that contribute to enhancing national GDP and creating employment.
Dr. Youssef affirmed that these campaigns represent a fixed and sustainable operational mechanism. All industrial zones and complexes across the country will be subject to periodic monitoring to verify implementation and operational status. Subsequently, all reclaimed lands and plots will be offered through the Digital Egypt Industrial Platform with full transparency, making them available to committed and serious investors to drive the momentum of manufacturing and genuine development.
