Pakistani Prime Minister Discusses Common Bilateral and International Issues with Norwegian Foreign Minister

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held talks with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide on ways to develop bilateral relations across various fields, alongside exchanging views on regional and international issues of mutual concern. According to an official statement, Sharif expressed his deep appreciation during the meeting on Thursday for the Kingdom of Norway’s strong and supportive stance on the Palestinian cause. The Pakistani prime minister also conveyed his sincere gratitude to Norway for its backing of Pakistan’s efforts to achieve de-escalation and peace in the Arabian Gulf region. On bilateral ties, Sharif underscored the depth of relations between the two countries, particularly in the fields of education, technology, and climate. He called for strengthening ties with Norway in trade and for Norwegian companies to participate in oil and gas exploration activities in Pakistani territory. For his part, Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide praised Pakistan’s prominent role in achieving peace in the region during the meeting.
