Al-Salmiya concluded 'Wadiyat' with Al-Khalidiya

Al-Salmiya’s first football team concluded its friendly matches at its training camp in the Turkish city of Izmit with a late-night encounter against Bahraini side Al-Khalidiya. The team is set to return to Kuwait next Monday to put the finishing touches on preparations ahead of their match against Al-Nasr, which will kick off the first round of the Zain Premier League on August 25.

The “Sky Blues” played several friendly matches during their Turkish camp, facing Egyptian side ZED FC (0-3), followed by a goalless draw with Qatari club Al-Marikhia, and a 2-2 draw in their third match against Algerian side Olympique de Chlef. The camp witnessed a noticeable development in the team’s physical and tactical conditioning, through intensive morning and evening training sessions in the initial days in Turkey. The Bahraini coach, Ali Ashour, then shifted focus to technical aspects, strengthening both defensive and attacking systems, which was clearly reflected in the team’s results across the three matches.

Meanwhile, Al-Fahaheel lost 2-0 to Egyptian side Smouha in a friendly match played at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria. Slovakian coach Martin Sivela was keen to identify the best starting lineup for his first official match in charge of Al-Fahaheel, which will see them face Al-Qadsia in the opening round of the Zain Premier League for both teams.
