Maya Diab.. and the success of "Ghareeba"

Lebanese singer Maya Diab expressed her joy and great enthusiasm for her new song “Ghareeba,” with lyrics by poet Tamer Hussein, music by Aziz Al-Shafie, musical arrangement by Hadi Sharara, and directed by Raja Naima. She noted that the success of any song is sometimes linked to the completeness of a set of elements within it, from the lyrics and melody to the arrangement and the visual image.

Regarding the title “Ghareeba” (Stranger) and whether it reflects a facet of her personality known for being different, Maya affirmed, according to the “Fawasya” website, that it is not about a deliberate attempt to appear different, but rather an integral part of her nature. She said, “This is part of my personality. I was created this way, and I don’t pretend to be anything else. This is me.” She pointed out that the idea of portraying two contrasting personas—the angel and the devil—in the music video was her concept from the outset, denying that she intended to convey a hidden message, and hinting that the idea came to her as soon as she received the song.
