Kuwait Insurance, KDD, and Abdullah Al-Shilan Group Support Emergency Response

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced that the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund had received new contributions totaling $4 million from three national institutions: $2 million from Kuwait Insurance Company, $1 million from the Kuwait-Danish Dairy Company (KDD), and $1 million from the Abdullah Saleh Al-Shalan Group, in support of the fund’s resources and its capacity to finance priority interventions and projects.

In a press statement, the Kuwait Fund noted that these contributions reflect the diversity of economic sectors participating in supporting the fund, and underscore the broad scope of institutional engagement with its objectives. This helps enhance available resources and direct them toward priority needs, while raising readiness to address various emergency situations and conditions.

The fund added that the continued flow of contributions from national institutions with diverse activities and expertise strengthens its ability to fulfill its role within an institutional framework that ensures resources are allocated according to priorities and actual needs, and supports rapid response and continuity of essential services when required.

The three contributing entities represent a diversity of economic sectors. The Kuwait-Danish Dairy Company (KDD) was established in 1962 and today offers a diverse portfolio of dairy products, juices, ice cream, and cooking products, with a presence extending to regional markets.

Kuwait Insurance Company, founded in 1960, is the first insurance company in Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Over more than six decades, it has solidified its position in the insurance market through a wide range of insurance products and services.

Meanwhile, the contribution from the Abdullah Saleh Al-Shalan Group reflects the participation of national institutions supporting the fund, highlighting the diversity of entities joining the initiative.

The Kuwait Emergency Response Fund was launched on July 5 last year, under the initiative of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and with the approval of the Council of Ministers. The Kuwait Fund manages and oversees its operations, aiming to enhance institutional resilience, improve the efficiency of national response, and enable relevant authorities to address emergency challenges effectively and efficiently.
