Azerbaijani Woman Caught Practicing Medicine Without a License

The Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Counterfeiting and Forgery Crimes Management), arrested an Azerbaijani resident for practicing medicine without a license and for using her private residence in the Jabir Al-Ahmad City area as a fully equipped health facility in exchange for monetary payments.

In a statement, the Ministry of Interior said the arrest followed intelligence indicating that the suspect was receiving patients, providing medical consultations and examinations, and preparing, selling, and distributing herbal mixtures without obtaining the necessary approvals and licenses from the competent authorities. Investigations confirmed the accuracy of the information received.

The ministry added that the necessary legal authorization was issued, and a team from the Counterfeiting and Forgery Crimes Management, in collaboration with the Women’s Police, was formed and dispatched to the site. The suspect was apprehended while conducting unlicensed medical activities. It was found that the residence had been set up as a complete medical clinic, with a portion of it dedicated to preparing and manufacturing herbal mixtures and preparing their labels.

Authorities discovered 11,651 Kuwaiti dinars, a medical bed, various examination tools, a white coat, and a register for recording patient data at the suspect’s home, along with medications, tools, and materials for preparing herbal mixtures and their labels.

The suspect admitted, after being confronted with the investigative findings, that she had operated the residence as an unlicensed medical facility, providing consultations and examinations for fees ranging between 5 and 30 Kuwaiti dinars. The ministry confirmed that all necessary legal procedures have been taken against her and that she has been referred to the competent authority to take the appropriate legal action in accordance with the law.
