Gemini AI users surpass one billion monthly

Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced that the number of monthly active users of the Gemini AI app has surpassed one billion. Pichai wrote on social media that it is “our fastest-growing product ever” and the fourteenth product to reach one billion users. This milestone, calculated by Google based on the number of Gemini users across its ecosystem, marks a victory for the tech giant amid a comprehensive restructuring of its artificial intelligence division. Google has not yet launched its new Gemini 3.5 Pro model, which was initially scheduled for release last June, while its competitors have rolled out more powerful models, particularly in code generation, currently the most lucrative segment in the industry.
