Highest-paid Arab official earns $470,000 weekly

Arab football stars continue to assert their distinctive presence in European and Arab leagues, with several Arab players now among the highest-paid in world football as the 2026-2027 season approaches. According to data compiled by the website Salary Leaks and media reports, Egyptian star Mohamed Salah tops the list of highest-paid Arab players, surpassing his compatriot Omar Marmoush and several prominent Moroccan and Algerian stars.

The recent transfer window witnessed notable moves by several Arab stars, most notably Mohamed Salah, who moved to Turkish club Trabzonspor after nine years at Liverpool. The deal was described as the largest in the history of the Turkish club involving an Arab player.

Earlier, there was speculation about Salah potentially joining the Saudi Professional League, but the Egyptian star opted for a new challenge in the Turkish league, thereby continuing his career in European football.

The list of the world’s highest-paid Arab players is headed by Mohamed Salah, earning $470,000 per week. He is followed by Omar Marmoush (Manchester City) at $400,000 per week, with Youssef En-Nesyri (Al-Ittihad Saudi) in third place at $330,000 per week. Achraf Hakimi ranks fourth with a weekly salary reaching $300,000, while Yassine Bounou (Al-Hilal Saudi) comes in fifth with a weekly salary of $220,000.
