Our national under-20 football team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Jordan in a friendly match played at the Jaber Al-Ahmad Stadium the night before yesterday, with Qais Sharawra scoring the only goal. The match was part of the preparations by the Blue Jays and the Nushamaa for the Asian Cup qualifiers. Jordan had previously defeated the same opponent on Saturday with the same scoreline. Our national team is competing in the qualifiers in Group 7, which will be hosted by Cambodia from August 31 to September 6. The group includes Cambodia, Japan, and Yemen. With the conclusion of these two matches, the Blue Jays have ended their current training camp and are preparing to depart tomorrow for Thailand to hold a final camp, which is the third phase of their preparation plan. They are scheduled to play two friendly matches against Asian teams in the same age category, after which the team delegation will travel to Cambodia to participate in the qualifiers.
