In Video: Customs Thwarts Another Attempt to Smuggle Subsidized Food Supplies to Egypt

The General Administration of Customs thwarted another attempt to smuggle large and diverse quantities of food supplies out of the country in violation of prevailing regulations and laws, using several trucks bound for the Arab Republic of Egypt. According to a customs statement, the seizure occurred during monitoring and inspection operations carried out by inspectors from the Salwa and Al-Khobar Customs Departments on departing trucks. The inspectors suspected several of these vehicles, and a thorough inspection revealed that they contained substantial quantities of various food items and supplies.

Customs authorities stated that the incident was handled in accordance with standard customs and legal procedures, and appropriate measures were taken against the violators, paving the way for their referral to the competent authorities to complete the prescribed legal processes.

This seizure is part of the ongoing efforts by General Customs Administration personnel to prevent the smuggling of goods and restricted materials, and to strengthen oversight of cargo movements through customs checkpoints, thereby contributing to the protection of the state’s resources and the preservation of economic security.
