Ministry of Education Examines Several Files: Hiring New Graduates, Transferring Teachers, and Announcing Subject-Specific Needs

Sources close to the matter told Al-Anbaa that the Ministry of Education is currently reviewing several important files related to educational staff, anticipating that new decisions and announcements concerning employment and educational matters will be issued by the end of August or the beginning of September.

The sources stated that among the key files being worked on are the appointment of new graduates, the issuance of transfer decisions for teachers, and the announcement of the Ministry’s needs for educational specialties for non-Kuwaiti nationals. They noted that specialties suffering from a shortage of educational staff will take priority in hiring procedures.

The sources clarified that the Ministry is working on multiple files during this period as part of its preparations for the new academic year 2026/2027, highlighting intensive efforts to organize the Ministry’s staffing needs and address any potential shortages in certain specialties and subjects.

The sources added that files concerning appointments, transfers, and staffing requirements undergo several procedures and arrangements before being officially announced. They emphasized that the Ministry is keen to complete these processes within established frameworks and procedures. The Ministry is preparing to issue decisions regarding transfers and placements before the end of August. Lists for transfers and promotions are ready, and official decisions will be issued after verifying that applicants meet all requirements and that vacancies are available in schools.

Regarding supervisory positions, work is underway to finalize placements following a review of vacant educational and administrative supervisory roles. These will be announced by the end of August or during the first week of September, allowing newly appointed staff to complete their procedures before the official start of work on September 6.

Concerning the hiring of new teachers, the sources noted that the Ministry is proceeding with the appointment of Kuwaiti teachers nominated by the Civil Service Bureau in recent months. The Ministry has a comprehensive appointment plan to ensure vacancies are filled and stability is achieved in the educational field before the start of classes. The Ministry has provided new teachers with medical examination forms to be completed by relevant authorities in the Ministry of Health. Appointment procedures will begin once educational sector procedures are completed, including interviews and tests for applicants who are not graduates of the Basic Education College or whose graduation from the Basic Education College occurred more than one calendar year ago.

The sources pointed out that a ministerial decision requires new teachers to begin work at centers designated by the Educational Affairs Sector and prohibits transfers for three years following their appointment. They added that new appointments for non-Kuwaitis will be limited to specialties experiencing staff shortages, such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, English, and French.

The sources indicated that current expectations suggest the announcement of several of these files in the near future, although final dates, numbers, and specialties have not yet been officially approved. Any changes to procedures or timelines remain subject to decisions by the relevant authorities within the Ministry.
