News reports have revealed details of an unusual security operation that accompanied U.S. President Donald Trump’s departure from Turkey following a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit in July, after it was decided to secretly transfer him to another military aircraft due to a potential security threat.

Agence France-Presse (AFP) cited U.S. news reports stating that Trump boarded the presidential plane in front of the media before being discreetly transferred via a catering vehicle to a smaller official aircraft.

Trump later acknowledged that the Secret Service had asked him to use a different plane due to the existence of a threat, confirming that he complied with the instructions of his protection officials.
