Al-Kuwari: We look forward to a global financial system more responsive to the growth and development priorities of emerging countries

Ahmed Kojok, the Minister of Finance, affirmed that enhancing the resilience and innovation capacity of developing economies drives the path toward comprehensive and sustainable development, noting that it is essential for developing countries to have a heard voice in shaping a more equitable and inclusive international financial architecture. Speaking during his participation in the “Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors” session of the BRICS countries in India, Kojok stated that they look forward to a global financial system more responsive to the growth and development priorities of emerging economies, highlighting the importance of maximizing the role of multilateral development banks in providing low-cost financing to enable developing countries to manage risks. He pointed out the necessity of integrating digital systems and artificial intelligence into structural reforms to develop human capital, enhance productivity and competitiveness, and strengthen trade and investment links among countries of the Global South to mitigate economic and geopolitical volatility.
