400,000 pounds disbursed to the family of each deceased in the "Ad-Duwais" incident
Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, and Hassan Radad, Minister of Labor, have decided to disburse 400,000 Egyptian pounds to the family of each victim in the collision between two worker-transport vehicles in the Dawawis area, under the jurisdiction of the Qassasin Center in Ismailia Governorate. The accident resulted in the deaths of several workers and injured others, who were transferred to hospitals to receive medical care and necessary treatment.
The two ministers also decided to provide emergency grants to the injured, starting at 30,000 Egyptian pounds per injured person. The grant amount will increase according to the severity of the injury and the condition of each victim, based on official medical reports, ensuring appropriate support for each case and assisting the injured and their families during the treatment and recovery period.
The Minister of Social Solidarity and the Minister of Labor emphasized that the swift intervention and support provided to the families of the deceased and the injured align with the directives of the political leadership to stand by citizens, workers, and their families in such difficult humanitarian circumstances, and to provide the necessary care and support, particularly in cases of death and injury resulting from work-related accidents or commuting associated with work.
The two ministers directed the head of the Central Administration for Social Protection at the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the head of the Central Administration for Irregular Employment Affairs at the Ministry of Labor, and the Ismailia Governorate’s Labor Directorate to swiftly take and complete all necessary procedures, identify the cases, and collect the required documents, in preparation for disbursing the allocated assistance to the families of each deceased and to the injured, while taking into account the medical condition of each injured person according to official medical reports.
The two ministers stressed the need to continue monitoring and coordinating with relevant authorities in the governorate and the hospitals receiving the injured, to track developments in their health conditions and ensure they receive the designated care and support, alongside the rapid completion of procedures for disbursing assistance to the families of the deceased and the injured, reflecting the state’s commitment to supporting workers and their families and standing by them during times when support is most needed.
For his part, Dr. Islam Azam, Chairman of the Egyptian General Authority for Supervision of Consolidated Mandatory Vehicle Insurance, directed the swift adoption of necessary measures to disburse the compensation due to the families of the victims and the injured.
