Start of coordination for the second phase for secondary school students, with a minimum of 68.75% for the scientific stream and 64.06% for the literary stream
The second phase of registering preferences for secondary school graduates via the Electronic Coordination Website for admission to public universities and institutes for the 2026/2027 academic year began yesterday. The registration period lasts for five days, until next Sunday, with a minimum score requirement of 68.75% for the scientific stream and 64.06% for the literary stream.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research confirmed its continued readiness to welcome students in the second phase, providing all necessary support and facilitations during the registration and ranking of preferences, in accordance with directives from Dr. Abdulaziz Qanṣūwa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, who is also serving as Acting Minister of Culture.
Ahmed Al-Giushi, Acting Head of the Education Sector and Supervisor of the Electronic Coordination Office, clarified that the coordination website allows students to register or modify their preferences 24 hours a day throughout the phase, using personal computers. He emphasized the importance of careful consideration when ranking preferences and thoroughly reviewing them before final submission.
He added that computer labs at public universities continue to receive students and provide free technical and advisory support during official working hours, assisting them in correctly registering, ranking, and reviewing their preferences in accordance with the regulations governing electronic coordination.
For his part, Dr. Adel Abdel-Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stated that the ministry has prepared a comprehensive awareness plan to support second-phase students. This plan includes publishing guidance manuals, infographics, and awareness videos that outline registration steps, preference ranking rules, and common mistakes to avoid, via the ministry’s official platforms.
Abdel-Ghaffar stressed the importance of students obtaining coordination information exclusively from the ministry’s official sources, and warned against being misled by rumors or inaccurate information circulating on social media.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research urged second-phase students to make full use of the registration period and not to wait until the last days or hours to submit their preferences. It reiterated the necessity of careful selection and ranking of preferences, along with thorough review before final submission.
