Top 10 Jobs Resistant to Artificial Intelligence: Firefighters and Pilots Lead the Way

A recent report from the platform Resume Now revealed that field jobs relying on human skills and direct interaction with the physical world remain the most resistant to artificial intelligence threats, due to the difficulty of automating capabilities such as rapid response, judgment, risk awareness, and working in unpredictable environments.

The report showed that none of the ten most AI-resistant jobs belong to traditional office work, based on data from the American Occupational Information Network (O*NET) and an analysis of six key capabilities: physical stamina, strength, reaction time, spatial perception, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and problem detection.

Firefighters topped the list as the job most dependent on human skills. The following are the ten most AI-resistant jobs and their average annual salaries:

Firefighters: $59,280 per year.

Airline pilots, co-pilots, and flight engineers: $232,140 per year.

Workers installing prefabricated buildings and mobile homes: $45,990 per year.

Tree trimming and pruning workers: $50,960 per year.

Iron and steel workers: $62,780 per year.

Oil and gas drilling rig operators: $58,620 per year.

Mine roof bolters: $78,540 per year.

Commercial pilots: $123,220 per year.

Fishers and related fishing workers: $61,130 per year.

Tree cutters: $52,100 per year.
