King of Bahrain: Historical ties and close partnership with the United Kingdom

Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa praised the distinguished bilateral relations and the close historical partnership between his country and the United Kingdom, highlighting their long-standing cooperation and joint coordination, particularly in defense and military affairs, as allies and friends over many years.
The Bahrain News Agency reported that this came during the King’s Tuesday reception of Lieutenant General Sir Charlie Collins, Chief of the Strategic and Operational Affairs at the UK’s Defence Staff, who is visiting Bahrain.
During the meeting, the King of Bahrain emphasized the mutual commitment to developing and enhancing bilateral relations across all fields, in a manner that serves the common goals and interests of both countries and brings benefits to their peoples.
He also commended the United Kingdom’s important role on the regional and international stage and its efforts to consolidate the foundations of security and stability in the region and worldwide. The meeting discussed overall regional and international developments, particularly the latest situations in the region, as well as several issues of mutual interest.
For his part, Lieutenant General Sir Charlie Collins expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the King of Bahrain’s efforts to strengthen the deep historical bonds of friendship and the robust military and defense cooperation between the two countries.
