Chelsea goalkeeper Yurgensson to Strasbourg

French club Strasbourg has signed Danish goalkeeper Filip Jørgensen on loan from Chelsea until the end of the 2026-2027 season. The Danish goalkeeper, who has earned two international caps, replaces Belgian Mike Maignan, who had previously been loaned from Chelsea to Strasbourg last season. Jørgensen was born in Sweden and began his youth career at Malmö before embarking on his first professional experience with Spanish club Villarreal between 2021 and 2024, before moving to Chelsea for a fee of 24 million euros ($27.6 million). The 24-year-old goalkeeper made 36 appearances over two seasons in London, drawing particular attention in March during the Paris leg of the Champions League round of 16, when he conceded five goals, one of which resulted from an error in his own build-up play. In a reverse move, Argentine midfielder Valentin Barco and Dutch forward Emmanuel Imolo transferred from Strasbourg to Chelsea earlier this summer.
