“Interior Ministry”: State Security Apparatus Arrests Two Individuals for Ties to Extremist Elements in ISIS Terrorist Group and Plotting to Target Places of Worship of a Sect in the Country

The Ministry of Interior announced that security agencies within the ministry, represented by the State Security Apparatus, had arrested two individuals. This came following their contact with elements affiliated with the ISIS terrorist organization and their receipt of training in the manufacture of explosives with the intent to target places of worship of a specific sect in the country.

In a statement, the ministry said the arrests were made as part of surveillance, investigation, and ongoing security monitoring efforts. Legal measures were taken against the two individuals, and they were referred to the competent authorities to complete the necessary procedures in accordance with the law.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its continued efforts to monitor and track any activities that could undermine the security and safety of society, and to deal with any practices that contravene the law in accordance with established legal procedures, in order to safeguard the country’s security and the safety of its citizens.

The ministry called on parents to closely monitor their children and raise awareness about the dangers of engaging in any ideas, behaviors, or actions criminalized by law. It also urged parents to monitor their children’s use of social media, strengthen family supervision and guidance, and instill values of loyalty, national belonging, and respect for the law, thereby contributing to their protection and enhancing their awareness and sense of responsibility toward the nation.
