Syrian-Saudi memorandum of understanding to establish agricultural projects on an area of up to 30,000 hectares
Yesterday, Syrian Minister of Agriculture Bassel Al-Sweidan and Emad Abdulqader Al-Muhaidib, Chairman of the Board of Directors of United Feed Company (Saudi Arabia), signed a memorandum of understanding to study the establishment of feed farms and processing plants in Syria, at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus. The Syrian official news agency (SANA) reported in a statement that the memorandum aims to cooperate on studying the feasibility of establishing feed and forage crop farms, utilizing center-pivot and linear irrigation systems in a sustainable manner, in the eastern region on an estimated area of 30,000 hectares, and linking them with feed processing plants and facilities for manufacturing and logistics services.
