For more than three years, the program “Hadith al-Musiqa” (Music Talk), produced and presented by Dr. Mohammed Al-Buainain and artist Abdulaziz Al-Musbah, with coordination and follow-up by Dana Al-Mutairi, radio engineering by Mohammed Al-Hariri, production by Dawood Al-Qassar, and direction by Mohammed Hashim Al-Anzi, has been broadcasting from Sunday to Thursday on the Arabic Singing Station (formerly known as the Old Station), 87.9 FM, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Al-Anba was present in the studio, where the atmosphere and songs evoked memories of the good old days.
Maestro Dr. Mohammed Al-Buainain told Al-Anba: “The program discusses the pioneers of art and musical maqamat in general, shedding light on every artist who established a distinctive artistic school within their field, and how they have maintained their stardom. Through the program, we present their works and allow younger generations to hear their artistry in some of the important pieces that hold a place in the history of Kuwaiti, Gulf, and Arab song. We also discuss musical forms, all the pioneers, and musical instruments. For instance, for every song we broadcast, we talk about the rhythmic meters and musical maqamat. The program is both entertaining and educational, transporting listeners back to the good old days.”
As for Abdulaziz Al-Musbah, he said: “The program ‘Hadith al-Musiqa’ focuses on the pioneers of art in Kuwait, the Gulf, and the Arab world, including singers, composers, and poets. We also highlight arrangers, musicians, and instrumentalists. Additionally, we discuss musical aspects such as cultural information and the stories that accompanied the artists’ careers, as well as the maqamat and rhythms used in each musical model we present to listeners.”
