Fiery start to the Zain League clash between Kuwait and Al-Arabi

Yesterday afternoon, the draw for the 2026-2027 Zain Premier League season was held, attended by Diyan Al-Diyain, Vice President of the Kuwait Football Association for Administrative and Financial Affairs; Dr. Saleh Al-Majroub, Secretary-General of the Association; and Hamad Al-Musaybih, Chief Executive Officer of Relations and Communications at Zain Kuwait.
The new edition of the Premier League will feature the clubs Al-Kuwait, Al-Arabi, Al-Qadsia, Kazma, Al-Salmiya, Al-Shabab, Al-Fahaheel, Al-Jahra, Al-Nasr, and Al-Tadamun, in addition to the two teams promoted from the First Division.
For the first time, the Premier League will involve 12 teams. The competition will be played in a home-and-away format, with each team playing 22 matches. The title will be awarded to the team with the highest points total. In case of a tie in points, tiebreakers will be head-to-head results, followed by goal difference. Two teams will be relegated to the First Division at the end of the season.
The first round will kick off on the 25th of this month, featuring a strong start with the match between the league champion, Al-Kuwait, and the runner-up, Al-Arabi. Other fixtures in the opening round include Al-Qadsia versus Al-Fahaheel, Al-Shabab against Al-Jahra, Al-Salmiya facing Al-Nasr, and Kazma meeting Al-Tadamun, along with the First Division champion versus the First Division runner-up.
The seventh round will see the derby between Al-Arabi and Al-Qadsia, with the return leg scheduled for the 18th round. Additionally, Al-Arabi (the White) will face the third-placed team (the Yellow) in both the second and thirteenth rounds.
