Al-Salmiya draws with Algerian side Olympique de Chlef

Al-Salmiya’s first team drew 2-2 with Algerian side CS Constantine (Olympique de Chlef) in a friendly match held yesterday evening in the Turkish city of Izmit. This was the third friendly for Al-Salmiya, known as “Al-Samawi,” during their training camp in Turkey, which runs until August 17, in preparation for the upcoming Zain Premier League season starting on August 25.

Previously, Al-Salmiya faced Egyptian club Zamalek (0-3) and Qatari side Al-Marikhia (0-0). The coaching staff has not yet decided whether to schedule a fourth friendly match. Over the nine days of the Turkish camp, Bahraini coach Ali Ashour focused on intensifying players’ physical conditioning during morning sessions, while reserving evening training for tactical work. The first half ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the second half, Yousef Anizan equalized for Al-Salmiya by scoring their second goal from a penalty kick, matching the Algerian side’s tally. Both teams sought a morale-boosting victory during their Turkish camp, but neither managed to score a third goal, resulting in a positive draw.
