The General Customs Authority, represented by the Customs Research and Investigation Department, in coordination with the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics, thwarted an attempt to smuggle a shipment originating from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which contained narcotics concealed in a professional manner inside decorative wall panels within air cargo. According to a statement issued by Customs, the seizure operation followed suspicions regarding the shipment, which was subjected to inspection and search procedures. The operation resulted in the seizure of three “wall decoration” panels stuffed with heroin, with a total weight of approximately one kilogram, as well as one panel stuffed with a crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine, weighing approximately 250 grams.
