Secretary-General of the Arab League and Yemeni Foreign Minister Condemn Houthi Terrorist Attacks and Call for an End to Iranian Support

Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy and Yemeni Foreign Minister Afrah al-Zoubi condemned the terrorist attacks by Houthi militias on several sites within Yemen, calling for an end to Iranian support for the Houthis and the implementation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216.

The Arab League stated that this came during a phone call on Sunday in which Fahmy received from the Yemeni minister, during which they discussed the latest developments in Yemen and the efforts made to support stability in the country.

According to the statement, both sides stressed the necessity of halting Iranian support for the Houthis, which provides backing for their operations within Yemen and in its regional surroundings by land and sea, emphasizing the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states and adhering to the rules of international law.

The Secretary-General reiterated the Arab League’s steadfast support for Yemen, both government and people, and its backing of efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution that safeguards Yemen’s unity, sovereignty, and stability, while preserving the security of the region and the interests of its peoples.
