Piza threatens Zamalek with a 'temporary card'

The crisis surrounding Brazilian player Joao Bezerra of Zamalek continues to unfold, as the player remains steadfast in his refusal to return to the “White Castle,” threatening to appeal to the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) for a temporary transfer certificate if Zamalek persists in blocking his departure during the current summer transfer window.

A source close to the player revealed that Bezerra remains determined to move to the UAE-based Al-Shabab Al-Arabi Club and believes Zamalek’s decision to close the file on his sale will not alter his stance. He is currently reviewing all available legal options with his representatives to resolve the dispute.

The source added that obtaining a temporary transfer certificate has become a strong option on the table for the player, should Zamalek continue to insist on his retention, with the dispute to be settled later by FIFA.

The source clarified that the registration window in the UAE remains open until September 28 next year, giving the player ample time to finalize his position, either through an agreement between Zamalek and Al-Shabab Al-Arabi or via the legal pathway he is currently exploring.

Earlier, Zamalek’s board of directors announced in an official statement that it had closed the file on Joao Bezerra’s departure, reaffirming its commitment to retaining the player and refusing to discuss any new offers. The club has ordered him to return to Cairo and resume training with the team, emphasizing that his contract remains valid for three more seasons and that the club retains all its legal rights.
