Al-Sahel to Hold Top Spot in "Al-Awali" Against Al-Shamya

Excitement returns to the Zain League First Division football tournament this evening with the kickoff of the 18th round, in which the race for the two promotion spots to next season’s Premier League is tightly contested by four clubs: Al-Sahel, Al-Yarmouk, Al-Salmiya, and Al-Jazira.

In tonight’s matches, league leaders Al-Sahel, sitting on 37 points, will look to maintain their top position when they face seventh-placed Al-Shamahi, who have 10 points, at Nasser Al-Asimi Stadium. At the same time, fourth-placed Al-Jazira, with 34 points, will host fifth-placed Khaitan, who have 19 points, at Jaber Al-Ahmad Stadium in Salmiya. Both matches are scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

The round’s fixtures will resume tomorrow, Tuesday, with two additional matches. Second-placed Al-Yarmouk, with 36 points, will play sixth-placed Burqan, who have 16 points, at Jaber Al-Ahmad Stadium. Meanwhile, third-placed Al-Salmiya, also on 36 points, will face last-placed Sporty, with just 3 points, at Nasser Al-Asimi Stadium. Both matches will also kick off at 8:30 p.m.
