Close the doors of sedition

There is no strong nation without national unity. National unity is not merely a phrase uttered on occasions, nor a slogan raised during crises and then folded away once they pass; it is a culture, a behavior, and a responsibility that begins with respecting one’s fellow human being, recognizing that differences of opinion do not undermine belonging or diminish loyalty.

In Kuwait, national unity has never been an option to be adopted or abandoned; rather, it has been the foundation upon which the state was built and a source of its strength in the most difficult circumstances. Every milestone the country has passed through has proven that when Kuwaitis place their nation above all else, the impossible becomes possible, and challenges transform into success stories that the national memory proudly preserves.

The most dangerous threat facing societies is not differing opinions, but attempts to incite fitna (discord). Therefore, responsibility does not rest solely with the state; it extends to the media, educational institutions, social media platforms, and every citizen who understands that words are a trust and that preserving the national fabric is a duty that brooks no compromise.

A prosperous future cannot be spoken of without enabling factors. Investment seeks stability, development requires a cohesive environment, and achievement emerges when everyone works with a spirit of teamwork. Thus, national unity is not merely a political issue; it is an economic, social, and cultural concern that touches the nation’s present and future.

We may differ in viewpoints, and positions may vary; this is natural, indeed healthy. However, what we must not disagree about is Kuwait, because it is the umbrella that unites everyone, the home with no alternative, and the security we carry in our hearts before we express it in words.

The nation will always remain greater than any disagreement, and national unity will always be the wall that protects it from the winds of discord. It is the only battle in which Kuwaitis cannot afford the luxury of defeat, because the victor in it is the nation, and the loser is everyone.
